Biosafety
Entomopathogenic nematodes are metazoans and predatory in nature against insect pests which qualify them as biologically safe to non-target organisms, aquatic, soil, plant, avian and animal forms of life. Environmental Protection Act of USA has exempted EPN from biosafety and toxicology requirements for registration purposes. Therefore, the EPN and their formulations are not listed in Central Insecticide Board & Registration Committee, Faridabad which make EPN biologically safe for field applications.
