Paddy. Typical symptom of damage known as hopper burn - yellowing, browning and death of above ground parts in the form of circular burnt up areas and presence of grayish brown nymphs and adults at the base of the plants.

Pest status

A major pest in all the rice growing countries of Asia. It also transmits grassy stunt and ragged stunt diseases.
