Host plants and symptoms of damage
Sugarcane and also other related species like Erianthus arundinaceum, E. munja, Miscanthus sp., etc.
Eggs are laid in linear rows. The nymphs are elongate oval in outline and greyish white or black with greyish bloom and suck the sap from the undersurface of leaves. In case of severe infestation, the leaves become yellowish and gradually dry up and cane vigour and sugar content are affected.

Ablerus aligarhensis (Khan & Shafee), Ablerus delhiensis (Lal), Encarsia isaaci (Mani), Encarsia macroptera (Viggiani), Encarsia muliyali (Mani), Encarsia udaipuriensis (Shafee), Euderomphale secunda (Mani), Amitus aleurolobi (Mani).
Pest status
Minor and sporadic.
