Pest status
An exotic pest, kept under control by Encarsia guadeloupae (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), fortuitously introduced along with the host in the late 1990s and also indigenous predators, mainly Axinoscymnus puttarudriahi Kapur & Munshi (Coccinellidae) and Cybocephalus spp. (Nitidulidae).
