Tender, early stage pods are affected by the pest and small, circular adult emergence holes are seen on pods.

Pest status

This pest has assumed serious proportions in some parts of southern India, particularly in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and also eastern India (Orissa).
