Sugarcane, other wild relatives of sugarcane, sorghum, and grasses in Poaceae.
This mealybug usually infests nodal regions, leaf sheaths and rarely, subterranean parts and roots of sugarcane. The adult females are pale yellowish, rather flattened, covered with a white mealy secretion, and are gregarious in their habits
like the pink mealybug. Severe infestation results in stunted growth and yellowing of leaves.
