Erthesina fullo (Thunberg)
Taxonomic position
Insecta: Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomoidea: Pentatomidae: Pentatominae: Halyini

There is some confusion regarding the identity of the Indian species - Erthesina fullo is widely found in the Oriental region, but the Indian species is probably E. acuminata Dallas. Both are externally very similar, but the male genitalia show some distinct differences.

See Pentatomoidea Home Page for more details. The images of the Indian species featured here look very similar to those found in the Orient and hence the name E. fullo is used here.
Habitat / hosts
The bugs are reported to feed on teak in Madhya Pradesh.
