It is a leaf feeding weevil on Acacia nilotica indica. Considered as a probable candidate for the biological control of Acacia nilotica indica in Australia.
Diagnosis
Adults are black with greyish scales having a lilac flush on the upper side and characterized by a pair of curved spine-like processes on the anterior margin of pronotum projecting forwards below the eyes. Pronotum has three narrow, indistinct, yellowish stripes. The denticles / spines on pronotum are of varying length, much shorter in males than females.
