Stigmatic spines
These are one or more marginal setae that are usually located in each stigmatic cleft or stigmatic area. There are usually three or more stigmatic spines and, when three, the middle (median) spine is generally longer than the laterals. The number, shape, and relative lengths of stigmatic spines are of taxonomic importance.
