Live character of Parthenolecanium corni (Bouché)






Females generally oval or round yellowish brown in nymphal stage. Depressed on submarginal areas and convex in the medial area. The nymphs covered with minute brown specks, the specks sometimes merge to form the transverse bars near head and thoracic areas. Female becomes leathery and darker and more convex with age. The females form dense colony with females overlapping each other. Eggs are laid under the body of the female and there is no ovisac.
