Live character of Coccus viridis (Green)

Adult bright pale green, pear shaped with front acuminate and rounded behind, sometimes asymmetrical, the development on one side suppressed by contact with a leaf vein; margin dull yellow flat attached to the leaf surface. Anal plate yellow clearly seen against bright green colour of the dorsum. Completely grown up females with an irregular, but very distinct loop of blackish spots on the middle of the dorsum which are the contents of the malpighian tubules. Eyes conspicuous, black, close to margin. Dried examples become dull fulvous, brown without dark spots of malpighian tubuls.
