Live character of Coccus longulus (Douglas)






Females gleemy pale yellowish-grey, elongate, almost parallel sided in the middle, narrowing towards head and anal area, ends are broadly rounded, thus giving almost semi-cylindrical form to the female. Surface smooth, shiny, convex in the middle. Submarginal areas flat and lighter greeinish in colour, the median area dark brown and raised from the surface. Two band light green irregular large spot arising from the anal plate converge to meet towards head. The darker patch in the center with several fine lighter spots scatter all over. Darker lines radiate from the darker central patch towards margin. The small dark black eye-spot is submarginal and distinctly visible.
