Late nymphs oblong oval, flat with raised median ridge. Pale ochreous, reticulated with brown lines. Adult female highly convex, hemispherical dark shining brown with marginal zone pale ochreous. Grwon up females with four or more longitudinal series of pale ochreous spots on dorsum. Derm thin and soft, shrivelling when dry becoming almost dull black. Anal operculum situated on a raised area distinct from the median convexity. Eyes dark black situated on the margin. This scale is alway found in the nest of ants.
