Nomenclature
Oxythrips hemavarna Ramakrishna and Margabandhu, 1931: 1036.
Diagnosis
Female macroptera: Body and legs golden yellow, apex of tergite X brown; forewing clear. Antennae 8 segmented; III–IV each with a forked sense cone. Head with ocellar pair III close together just above anterior margin of posterior ocelli. Pronotum weakly trapezoidal; without long setae. Metanotum with weak median reticulations; median setae a little behind anterior margin. Forewing first vein with 5 or 6 basal setae and 3 or 4 distal setae; second vein with 3 or 4 setae. Fore femora stout; hind tibia longer than the mid tibia. Abdominal tergites II–VIII with craspedum. Abdominal sternites without discal setae.
