Nomenclature

Hydatothrips (Neohydatothrips) samayunkur Kudo, 1995: 169.

Diagnosis

Female macroptera: Body bicoloured, predominantly brown with anterior margin of pronotum yellow, all tarsi and tibiae yellow; abdominal segments III–VI yellowish brown having dark antecostal ridge; forewing with three dark and three light bands, pale apex. Head with occipital ridge well separated from the posterior margins of eyes; ocellar triangle with uneven reticulation; ocellar setae III on anterior margins of triangle; postocular setae three pairs, median pair long and positioned laterally. Pronotum with transverse striations, blotch deeply notched posteriorly. Metanotum with linear sculpture on posterior half. Abdominaltergites II–VI without median marginal comb. Abdominal sternites completely covered with microtrichia, posterior margins with groups of long microtrichia between marginal setae bases.
