Nomenclature

Proscirtothrips darci Girault, 1930

Diagnosis

Female macroptera: Body white, interocular area, one third lateral pronotum, lateral mesonotum, median third of fore tibia brown; forewing grey. Head sculptured irregularly. Antennae 8 segmented, III–IV each with a forked sense cone. Pronotum with narrow transverse reticulation, transverse internal apodeme interrupted at middle; three pairs of posteromarginal setae and one pair of long posteroangular setae. Metanotum has closely spaced longitudinal striae; median pair of setae small and close together. Forewing first vein with two widely spaced distal setae, second vein without setae. Abdominal tergites with median setae pair longer than distance between their bases; VIII with complete comb at posterior margin; IX with 3 rows of long and stout microtrichia in posterior half.
