Diagnosis

Female: Body dorsally dark metallic green or bluish green, antennal scape metallic green, remaining segments brown; legs yellowish white except coxae dark metallic green, femora medially black, tarsi light brown. Antenna short, with three-segmented funicle and a compact, three-segmented club.

Male: Body coloration similar to that of female, gaster dorsoventrally somewhat flattened. Antenna with four-segmented funicle, funicular segments with long whorls of setae.

Distribution

More or less distributed in all the zoogeographical regions of the world where Plutella xylostella (L.) is distributed. For complete list, refer to Universal Chalcidoidea Database.

Hosts / Biology

A common parasitoid of the diamondback moth, P. xylostella. Also collected as a hyperparasitoid of Cotesia vestalis (= C. plutellae), a major braconid parasitoid of P. xylostella.
