Taxonomic position

Diagnosis

Head, pronotum and mesoscutum black; scutellum, metanotum and propodeum brick red, antenna dark brown with median segments whitish in female; gaster with tergite 1 (Fig. 2) brick red, medially darker, tergite 2 yellowish in apical third, tergites 3-5 blackish, tergite 5 apically and tergite 6 yellowish. Ovipositor (Fig. 3) strongly exserted, apically lanceolate-serrate (Fig. 5). Fore wing (Fig. 4) hyaline, with an infuscate patch in distal half.

Distribution

Widely distributed in the Oriental region.

Hosts / Biology

Larval parasitoid of Scirpophaga spp. occurring on sugarcane and rice.
