Diagnosis
Female: Body dark brown to black with metallic tints. Antenna with scape yellowish-testaceous, pedicel and flagellum black, club whitish; antennal formula 1163. Frontovertex with conspicuous setigerous punctures. Scutellum with silvery setae arranged in a definite pattern (laterally and apically margined with silvery setae and with one median and two submedian lines of silvery setae). Fore wing infuscate from distal half of submarginal vein to nearly the apex, the apex more or less paler. Head and thorax, dorsal view

Distribution
India: Assam; Kerala; Karnataka; Tamil Nadu. Also distributed in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, New Britain and Australia (Hayat, 2006).
