Taxonomic position

Diagnosis

Body dark brown to black. Head transverse; eyes bare. Antennae nine-segmented in both sexes, longer with conspicuous whorls of hairs in male, club subequal to preceding four segments combined in female. Mesosoma without parapsidal furrows. Fore wing with short fringe, devoid of venation except for a short stump-like submarginal vein at base, distally swollen. Metasoma (abdomen) with a short petiole, second tergite largest.

Distribution

Cosmopolitan.

Biology / Hosts

Allotropa spp. are parasitoids of mealybugs, scales and whiteflies.
