Taxonomic position

Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Pteromalidae: Diparinae

The genus Netomocera Bouček is rarely encountered with barely eight described species throughout the world (Noyes, 2014). Bouček (1988) mentioned set of additional undescribed species from all continents except South America and colder regions. According to Desjardins (2007) the genus is known from all continents except Antartica. Sureshan (2010) provided key to the world species of Genus Netomocera.

Diagnosis

Female: wings fully developed or somewhat shortened, fore wing with two fuscous spots, one below the marginal vein, the other in the distal part of the wing; body squat, mesosoma only about 1.5x as long as wide, metasoma ovate; gastral petiole wider than long; body mainly testaceous.

Male: flagellar segments closely compacted, cylindrical, with extremely short pubescence; gastral petiole wider than long, dark; coxae black, legs otherwise mainly fuscous; body squat (Graham, 1969).

Distribution

India: Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.

Biology / Hosts

The biology of this genus is not known and is often encountered through sweep net in relatively open spaces.
