Scientific name

Ischyroptyx Delucchi, 1956

Rarely encountered genus. There is only one described global representative of this genus from Italy - Ischyroptyx ligusticus (Masi, 1922).

Diagnosis

Body colour black with metallic shine. Antennae inserted slightly above centre of face, female with 3 anelli and 5 long funicular segments. Pronotum as broad as mesoscutum, hairs on mesosoma conspicuous; hind tibia with two spurs. Fore wing with marginal vein slightly widened at base, marginal vein about 1.47x stigmal vein. Ovipositor long.
