Diagnosis
Narayanella belongs to the Polynema group of genera and possesses the following combination of characters.
- Female antennal (Figs. 4, 5) scape short, almost quadrate, funicle 5-segmented, last funicle segment dilated, clava 2-segmented
- Fore wing (Fig. 6) with discal setae arranged in curved and alternating strong and weaker rows
- Hind leg with very long spine or needle like setae (Figs. 1-3), hind coxa longer than petiole or mid femur, tarsi 4-segmented
- Gaster short, ovipositor very slightly exserted.
