Nomenclature
Dicopus Enock, 1909: 455. Type species: Dicopus minutissimus Enock, by monotypy.
Diagnosis
Dicopus belongs to the Alaptus group of genera and the diagnostic characters are as follows:
- Female antenna (Fig. 4) with funicle 7-segmented
- Head in anterior view with mandibles projecting ventrally, not crossed when closed
- Face beak like, genae converging strongly below eyes; mandible with one long and one short tooth
- Fore wing (Fig. 5) extremely narrow medially, with posterior margin evenly curved medially and somewhat straighter towards apex
- Tarsi 5-segmented
- Mesophragma projecting well into gaster (Fig. 3), gaster broadly sessile.
Geographic Distribution
Cosmopolitan.

Hosts and habitat
Hemiptera: Diaspididae (Fiorinia fioriniae and Unaspis euonymi) (Noyes, 2013).
