Nomenclature
Australomymar Girault, 1929: 343. Type species: Australomymar aurigerum Girault, by monotypy.
Nesetaerus Doutt, 1955: 12. Type species: Nesetaerus gressitti Doutt, by monotypy. Synonymy by Lin et al., 2007.
Diagnosis
Australomymar (Fig. 1) belongs to the Australomymar group of genera. The diagnostic characters are as follows:
- Antenna with clava entire
- Fore wing with a diagonal fold and line of microtrichia (rarely both absent) extending from apex of stigmal vein to posterior wing margin
- Ovipositor usually strongly exserted, ovipositor sheaths bearing at least a few setae along exserted portion.
- Male antenna with 11-segmented flagellum
Geographic Distribution
Australian, Oriental, and Neotropical regions (Lin et al., 2008).
