Nomenclature
Anagroidea Girault, 1915 [228]:164. Type species: Eustochus dubius Girault, by original designation.
Dahmsia Doutt, 1975: 254. Type species: Dahmsia australiensis Doutt, by original designation. Synonymy by Noyes & Valentine (1989: 25).
Diagnosis
Anagroidea belongs to the Anagroidea group of genera. It is distinguished by the following characters.
- Antenna (Fig. 5) with funicle segment 1 much longer than any other
- Head short, with face in lateral view rounded; mandibles much shorter than height of head, directed ventrally and not crossing each other
- Body often with long, erect setae.
- Fore leg with protibial spur comblike. Male flagellum 11-segmented
Geographic Distribution
Worldwide, except Europe and Africa (Lin et al., 2008). See Indian distribution map.
