Taxonomic position

Diagnosis

Body and legs yellow coloured, often with or without black spots on mesosoma and metasoma. Head with inner margin of compound eyes deeply emarginate around antennal insertions. Mandibles twisted to about 90o and considerably narrowed towards the apex, lower tooth smaller than upper tooth and almost invisible when mandibles are closed (Fig. 1). Propodeum extensively areolate (Fig. 2). First metasomal tergite not considerably narrower at base, with spiracle situated a little before or around middle (Fig. 3). Several species are commonly collected in association with graminaceous stemborers.
