DiagnosisBody more or less completely dark brown to black, shiny on dorsal side; antennae dark reddish brown, legs reddish brown. Head almost globose in lateral view, as wide as thorax or shorter, smooth; antennae inserted on prominent frontal shelves / projections, moniliform, 12-segmented in female with five-segmented club; 14-segmented in male, flagellar segments in male with with fine adpressed white hairs. Thorax oval, pronotum short with silvery white woolly hairs on sides. Mesoscutum without notaular lines. Gaster petiolate, petiole cylindrical with dense, whitish hairs; second tergite largest, occupying most of the gastral dorsum. Wings finely hairy with long marginal fringe, fore wing with reduced venation, m almost punctiform, sm not exceeding basal one-third, st very short. All femora distinctly spindle shaped, tibiae apically swollen.

Hosts / BiologyParasitic on dipterous hosts. Mass produced and used in the biological control of Indian Uzi fly, Exorista bombycis (Diptera: Tachinidae).
