Diagnosis

Head, thorax and scutellum dark shiny black to brown. Antenna 4-segmented, segments 1 and 2 dark brown, segments 3 and 4 lighter, yellowish. Rostrum brown, apically lighter yellowish. Hemelytra dark brown to black with oblique membranous areas, membranous portion of hemelytra with a longitudinal black band. Flagellum slightly sinuate, approximately twice as long as cone and by the copulatory tube apex exceeding the anterior margin of sternum VII.

Found in association with thrips.

Distribution

India: Karnataka, Kerala.

Hosts / Biology

Predatory on pepper thrips, Liothrips karnyi (Bagnall) and other thrips. Biology studied by Yamada et al. (2011).
