Diagnosis

Female: Body dark brown to black; antenna with scape, pedicel and funicular segments brownish, funicular segments slightly ligher yellowish brown, club yellowish; legs dark brown to black except middle femora whitish, middle tibiae apically and middle tarsi yellowish, hind tibiae with a white anterior patch, hind tarsi yellowish; ovipositor exserted, yellowish. Head conical in dorsal view, remarkably like that of a grasshopper in lateral view. Eyes separated from occipital margin by at least the diameter of an ocellus. Antennal formula 1161, inserted close to mouth margin, antennal club entire, apically obliquely truncate. Mesoscutum without notaular lines. Legs elongate, middle tibiae with characteristic, long apical spurs. Fore wing medially infuscate, postmarginal and stigmal veins longer than marginal vein, stigmal vein slightly longer than postmarginal vein.

Distribution

Oriental and Australasian regions. India (Karnataka; Tamil Nadu). Bangladesh.

Hosts / Biology

Parasitoids on pupae of green lacewings (Chrysopidae). Also recorded from Phenacoccus mangiferae (Pseudococcidae) on mango in Bangladesh, which is probably erroneous (Hayat, 2006).
