Taxonomic position

Diagnosis

Head pale yellow, clypeal margin brownish; mesosoma orange-yellow, scutellum mediol-laterally black, propodeum laterally black, abdomen basolaterally and medially marked black. Antenna with scape, pedicel and F1-F4 yellowish brown, F5-F6 lighter yellowish, club black. Fore wings infuscate. Legs yellowish, except mid-tibiae anteriorly black. Compound eyes large and occupying most of the face, inner margins of eyes clearly converging below / in front of anterior ocellus. Scutellum with lateral margins excised / notched a little below middle, with reticulate microsculpture.

Distribution

India: Andaman & Nicobar Islands; Karnataka; Tamil Nadu. Bangladesh. Indonesia. Hawaii (Hayat, 2006).

Hosts / Biology

Parasitic on Coccidae and Asterolecaniidae - Coccus viridis, Pulvinaria psidii, etc. (Hayat, 2006). Observed to parasitize diaspine scales such as Hemiberlesia lataniae (Signoret) in Karnataka.
