Taxonomic position

Diagnosis

Body more or less fully orange to yellow except antenna with scape with its outer margin dark brown, club dark brown to black. Antenna (Fig. 1) with scape broadened and flattened, funicle six-segmented, funicular segments progressively broader than long, club apically oblique. Fore wing as in Fig. 2, infuscate with a hyaline streak in basal one-third around middle. Mesoscutum and scutellum (Fig. 3) with reticulate sculpture and regular black setae. Hypopygium not reaching more than two-thirds length along gaster.

It is the only species in the genus Bolangera and is endemic to India.

Distribution

Endemic to India (Karnataka).

Hosts / Biology

A common and apparently specific parasitoid of Cerococcus indicus and other Cerococcus spp. on hibiscus, brinjal, etc.
