Taxonomic position

Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Encyrtidae

Diagnosis

Female: Fully winged or brachypterous. Length 0.56-1.14. Head and thorax varying from orange to dark brown; scape yellowish to brown; flagellum entirely dark brown or distal three or four segments yellowish; fore wings more or less hyaline, but normally faintly infuscate; gaster dark brown; scape about 4x as long as broad; all funicle segments at least about 3x as long as broad, distal segments sometimes shorter in smaller individuals, proximal segments longest; fore wings in fully winged forms slightly less than 3x as long as broad, in brachypterous forms hardly reaching base of gaster (Noyes and Hayat, 1994).

Distribution

India: Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu (Hayat, 2006), Odisha and Uttar Pradesh (Hayat and Khan, 2008).

Hosts / Biology

Recorded as a parasitoid of Rhizococcus albidus (Hemiptera: Eriococcidae) (Ferriere, 1956).
