Taxonomic position

Diagnosis

Female: Antenna with F1-4 brownish; usually F5 and F6 pale to pale brown; fore wing infuscation begins at level of proximal end of marginal vein, the proximal margin of infuscation bent obliquely outwards; legs dark brown with pale yellow to white as follows: apex of fore femur, distal two-fifths of fore tibia, basal third and apex of mid femur, largely the mid tibia except sometimes an irregular infuscate patch in basal third, base narrowly of hind femur and apical third of hind tibia.

Distribution

India: Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (Hayat, 2006), Andhra Pradesh (Rajak & Varma, 2001), Maharashtra (Jadhav & Varma, 2001).

Biology / Hosts

A common parasitoid of sugarcane scale, Melanaspis glomerata (Green) (Subba Rao, 1957).
