Diagnosis

The aphid is whitish, with a sclerotic brown head and darker legs and antennae, body outline more flattened as compared to T. nigriabdominalis. Antennae four-segmented, 0.20 times as long as body. Siphunculi small, truncate with dark sclerotic flange. Ultimate rostral segment 1.28 times as long as ht2. Wax gland cells different from those of T. nigriabdominalis. Though it occurs on the same host plants as T. nigriabdominalis, the two species are never present together.
