Diagnosis

Medium size spindle-shaped aphid (1.58 - 2.17 mm). Body pale brownish grey with redish grey blotches around bases of siphunculi. Antennae, siphunculi and tarsi dark. Eyes dark red. Cauda pale yellowish with 6-8 hairs. Ants are not found attending them and honey dew excretion is also very low. Infested plants exhibit no visible damage.

Antennae 1.2 to 1.45 times as long as body. Processus terminalis 5 to 6 times of base of the last antennal segment. Siphunculi 0.25 to 0.30 of body length, 1.6 to 1.9 times as long as cauda. Secondary rhinaria 11-32 on III, 20-35 on IV and 9-20 on V.

Afrotropical, Oriental and Australasian regions. India: Karnataka.
