Diagnosis

The aphid is strongly globose, smooth and yellow. The head is lightly pigmented with many short spiny hairs. Hairs are absent on abdominal tergum. Siphunculi are absent and the cauda is small and rounded. Antennae 0.25 to 0.3 times as long as body. Ultimate rostral segment and ht2 almost equal in length.

Presence of ant wells near the root zones of the host plants helps in detecting the presence of the aphid.

India (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu), Iran, Central Asia.
