Nomenclature
Umairia Hayat, 2014. Type species: Umairia laiba Hayat, by original designation.
Diagnosis
- Head slightly flattened anteroposteriorly, subprognathous; malar space straight, and with a fine sulcus
- Mandible rudimentary, lobe-like, tips of the two mandibles widely separated and hidden by ventral, rounded extension of clypeus
- Antennal formula 1131; scape very slightly flattened, apically narrowed, and more than 3× as long as broad; pedicel longer than F1; funicle segments transverse; F1 with ventral side longer than dorsal side; F2 and F3 with dorsal sides longer than ventral sides; clava longer than funicle, and with apex slightly curved
- Pronotum medially membranous, thus consisting of two plates
- Mesoscutum with notaular lines present in about anterior half only
- Fore wing with costal cell slightly to distinctly longer than marginal vein; postmarginal vein absent; stigmal vein with a short neck, and stigma with 4 circular sensilla arranged in a curved line
- Legs with tarsal formula 5–5–5; fore tibial spur curved and bifid at apex
- Gaster apically rounded; cercal plates situated near apex of gaster; ovipositor exserted; hypopygium extending to level of cercal plates (From Hayat, 2014)
