Nomenclature
Samariola Hayat, 1983. Type species: Samariola camerounensis Hayat, by original designation.
Diagnosis
- Head dorsally transverse, 3x as wide as long
- Antenna 6-segmented; scape flattened and expanded beneath; clava large, flattened with truncated apex
- Pronotum narrow and membranous in middle
- Mesopleuron large, quadrate, not divided by suture
- Fore wing with the marginal vein sharply bent before joining parastigma; hind wing broad, and compared to other aphelinid genera, relatively larger in relation to fore wing
- Tarsal formula 5-5-5
- Gaster with last tergum like a narrow band; hypopygium prominent, extending to about level of cercal plates or beyond (Hayat, 1983)
