Nomenclature
Prococcobius Hayat, 2014: Type species: Prococcobius polaszeki Hayat, by original designation.
Diagnosis
- Brachypterous; body flattened, elongate, with metasoma long
- Head subprognathous; face with oblique facial lines; malar sulcus present; face with an elongated, inverted U-shaped ridge, its apex reaching to about half head height
- Antennal formula, 1132; anellus present
- Pronotum dorsally large, cup-shaped, 2× as broad as long, and 0.89× combined lengths of mid lobe of mesoscutum and scutellum
- Scutellum 2.2x as broad as long, with 1 + 2 setae [abnormally only one seta present on the left side], circular sensilla absent
- Fore wing a subtriangular plate, and when laid back, reaching posteriorly to about anterior half of TI of gaster; submarginal vein and parastigma distally curved up to anterior margin of wing and then continue as the marginal vein, not touching anterior wing margin. Hind wing membranous.
- Legs short and robust; tarsal formula 5–5–5
- Cercal plates situated at about apical fifth of gaster, hypopygium not extending to apex of gaster (From Hayat, 2014)
