Nomenclature
Myiocnema Ashmead, 1900: 349. Type species: Myiocnema comperei Ashmead, by monotypy.
Diagnosis
- Body black with a bristly appearance, thorax with several long bristles
- Antenna 8-segmented with 3 anelli, clava 2-segmented
- Parapsidal furrows distinct but very delicate, almost invisible
- Hind femora somewhat thickened, subcompressed, their tibiae armed with stiff bristles; hind tibiae with two short apical spurs
- Forewing with a broad fuscous discoidal patch below marginal vein, with parastigma projecting posteriorly into wing disc and with two long setae, basal discal area below parastigma bears a long, bristle-like seta posterior to the parastigmal spurs, postmarginal and stigmal veins well developed, both at least as long as marginal vein
- Tarsal formula 5-5-5
Distribution
Distributed in Australia, Nearctic and Oriental regions (Noyes, 2014). From India, known from Haryana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Hosts and habitat
