Nomenclature
Botryoideclava Subba Rao, 1980: 41. Type species: Botryoideclava bharatiya Subba Rao, by original designation.
Diagnosis
- Form elongate, somewhat depressed and flattened, ovipositor distinctly exserted
- Head with well developed temples
- Antenna 6-segmented with 1122 formula, both funicle segments small, transverse; clava distinct and large, 2-segmented, usually with numerous, conspicuous, elongate oval sensillae
- Pronotum medially divided
- Axillae small, slightly projecting forward
- Fore wing with venation exceeding mid-length of fore wing, costal cell shorter than marginal vein, costal cell without setae; submarginal vein with 2 setae; stigmal vein short; linea calva not well defined
- Tarsal formula 5-5-5

Hosts and habitat
Aclerda takahashii Kuwana (Aclerdidae) infesting sugarcane. A gregarious ectoparasitoid of sugarcane scale, Melanaspis glomerata (Green) (Diaspididae) (Easwaramoorthy et al., 1996).
